Welcome to the English lesson!

Englannin kieli on tärkeää. Sillä pärjää maailmalla. Näillä sivuilla pääset tutustumaan englannin kielen opiskeluun Hemmingin koulussa. Sivuille mahtuu myös kaikenlaista kivaa puuhasteltavaa!

Työskentelytavat

Työskentelemme yleensä yksin, usein myös pareittain tai ryhmissä. Tunneilla luemme, sekä kuuntelemme kappaleita, teemme tehtäviä, keskustelemme ja joskus saatamme tehdä pieniä näytelmiä, joita esitämme englannin tunneilla. Joskus käymme ATK-luokassa harjoittelemassa tietokoneilla englannin kieltä. Ilmapiiri englannin tunneilla on yleensä hyvä ja rauhallinen kaikin puolin.

Käytämme työskennellessämme This Way Up -kirjasarjaa, johon kuuluu teksti- ja työkirjat kolmelle vuodelle.

Dear Diary

Today we had two lessons of English. We started the lessons by saying hello! Then we checked out our homework. Next we listened to one chapter and after it we read it in English. We did also one excercise about this chapter, but it was fairly easy. Then we studied grammar, exactly tenses. I didn't understand it very well and the next excercise was difficult for me. Luckily my friend (who sat next to me) tried to explain grammar to me. When the teacher checked the excercise, I had almost the whole excercise correct. After it we listened to two songs. The first song was a funny song about different animals. But I like it the second song, its name was "Old School Yard". "Remember the days of the old school yard. We used to cry a lot, oh, don't you remember." But nobody sand in our class, which is very normal...

Then the lesson came closer to the end, so the teacher gave our homework. Next time we have a word test, so we have to read words about chapter three and at home we have also to do one excercise. When we packed our books in the bag, everybody stood up and the teacher said: "Thank you for today and have a nice day and (pupils moved a little closer to the door) have a nice weekend! Bye bye!" We said: "Bye bye!" and then everyone ran to eat...
